Salvation testimony of beloved wife, Jean Sheldon Schroeder, Jan. 19, 1948-Jan 12, 2017

By Mike Schroeder

(this is transcribed from a handwritten statement my wife pinned on Sept. 17, 2000. )

Got saved

Came to the Berean (Bible) church with Sandy (younger sister) Sunday night with my NIV. Came back and found out I was lost.

(My) Struggle

Couldn’t let go of the control of my life. I felt I was the leader and commander o my destiny, and needed to relinquish the death grip I had on the steering wheel of my life to be saved, and trust in a Jesus I was unfamiliar with–the Jesus Paul knew.
I believed everything I was hearing–like a human sponge–I wanted to know more, but trusting was a struggle. To put my destiny in another’s hands, even though I wasn’t doing a great job as a life manager, as things (in my life) had taken a turn for the worse, and I was desperate for answers. I had to get completely honest with myself and with God. I had to really believe this–not just voice some words and hope it worked. I (realized) I had to, with conviction, trust, and I can’t say I knew how to trust outside of myself. I had to be so protective, and to let those walls come crashing down didn’t happen.

(Surrender to Christ)

But by submersing myself in the Word, I let go and let God in my heart, and trusted Christ for my salvation. At that point, I knew beyond any doubt I was in the body of Christ, and going home when I died, and had a peace about it, and about my life, which gets better (know) every day!

On January 12th, 2017, seven days after our 15th anniversary, and seven days before her 69th birthday, Jean passed from this earth into the arms of her Savior, Jesus Christ.

Our Mission

Amazing Grace Bible Study Fellowship (AGBSF) is a local non-denominational church fellowship dedicated to the publishing of the Gospel of Christ (Romans 1:16), and the preaching of Jesus Christ according to the revelation of the mystery of Romans 16:25 and Ephesians 3:3. Our goal is to study the Bible in accordance with 2 Timothy 2:15, in order to become established in the truth of it according to Romans 1:11; to the end that we might come into conformity with the will of God for our lives according to Romans 12:3.
